Aadhi is one of the releases that had graced the screens here in Kerala today. This flick had got great attention prior to its release as it was the debut movie of Complete Actor Mohanlal’s son Pranav Mohanlal, as a hero in Mollywood. The flick was scripted and directed by Master Director Jeethu Joseph and it was bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas. This flick revolves around the character named Adithya Mohan played by Pranav Mohanlal. Adithya’s aim is to become a musician one day and chasing his dreams, he comes to Bangalore City. But an incident there turns upside down and there starts his run for survival.

Jeethu Joseph’s last two movies named Oozham and Life Of Josootty had not made much of an impact in the box office and because of that Aadhi became an important movie for him as well. After the gigantic success he got through Mohanlal starrer Drishyam, a big box office success is eluding him and that is why this film Aadhi became so important to his career as well. So this time he had come up with a complete family entertainer which has great action sequences and thrilling moments in it. As a writer and director, Jeethu had done a fabulous job in Aadhi.
His screenplay was tight and filled with all the entertainment elements, mixed in the right proportion. He had great control over the proceeding while narrating the plot and the film remained in his grip till the very end. . It is a family action drama and there nothing big in the story. But what made the film different is the way he presented the plot and he had made this movie stand apart by making it in a very different way. The action sequences and emotional elements were mixed very well and even without much twist or turns, he made the audience to sit at the edge of their seats with thrilling moments.

Pranav Mohanlal’s performance as Aadhi was the highlight of this movie. This young man had given a matured and effortless performance in the film. His body language was great and the way he did the action sequences were just amazing. He had done well in the emotional scenes too. Special appreciation has to be given to artists like Siddique and Meghanathan as well for their performance in the flick. Both had done a great job in the film. Other artists like, Anusree, Jagapathi Babu, Lena, Sharafudheen, Siju Wilson, Sijoy Varghese, Krishna Shankar, Aditi Ravi etc also done a very good job in this movie.

DOP by Satheesh Kuruppu was one of the major highlights of this film. His visuals in the action sequences were terrific and it really set the correct atmosphere to tell the story. Anil Johnson’s music was great, especially the background scoring. Ayoob Khan’s editing was sharp and crisp as well. The VFX part deserves special mention and Tony had done a very good job in the flick.

In total, Aadhi is a great family action drama which will give you complete entertainment from the start to the end. It is a well-made, technically brilliant entertainer which will never let you down and we can say that you are in for something really fresh and unique.
