Aaram Thamburan is one of the biggest hits ever happened in Malayalam Cinema and this Mohanlal- Shaji Kailas movie written by Ranjith is one of the most popular movies ever made in Mollywood as well. The film is still popular here and whenever it comes on Mini Screen, the viewership rate it gets is quite high. But there is an interesting story related to the big success of this movie. It is related to writer Ranjith’s attitude before starting this movie. In 1993, Ranjith had written a movie named Devasuram for Mohanlal- IV Sasi team and it was a blockbuster success and become an evergreen classic movie in Mollywood. Later he had written a movie named Mayamayooram for Mohanlal- Sibi Malayil team. Even though it was a film that got great critical appreciation, the film was a box office failure. That made Ranjith think a lot about his next association with Mohanlal. He wants to make a movie like Devasuram and even wanted to make a complete mass action movie with Shaji Kailas- Mohanlal team.
In 1997, Aaram Thamburan released and become an all-time big blockbuster. The film had Manju Warrier as the female lead and it is still regarded as one of the best ever from Mohanlal- Shaji Kailas team. It was Shaji Kailas’s first association with Mohanlal as well.
