Why Mani Ratnam dropped Dulquar Salman – Karthi Project?
Master Director Mani Ratnam is now busy with the works of his movie in which Kollywood actor Karthi is playing the lead. But earlier he planned a movie with Dulquar Salman and Karthi in lead roles. It was after his super hit film OK Kanmani with Dulquar Salman that he planned his next with Karthi and Dulquar combo. But later he dropped that plan and proceed to do another project with Karthi alone. Now Karthi reveals why that project has been dropped by Mani Ratnam. Karthi came to Kochi for the promotion of his film Kashmora a few days back and told this in a media interview.

Karthi said that when Mani Ratnam narrated the story to him and Dulquar Salman, both of them liked the story. But Mani Ratnam wanted to start the filming in last December. At that time both Dulquar Salman and Karthi were busy with their other projects and because of that Mani Ratnam had dropped that project and later started another one with Karthi alone. Dulquar Salman was busy with Rajeev Ravi movie Kammattipadam at that time and Karthi was busy with the works of Kashmora as well.
Karthi said that he will act in Malayalam if right script comes to him. He said that he is a great fan of Mohanlal and love to watch Mammootty films as well.
