Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan are the two biggest stars ever made in Kollywood. When Rajinikanth become the darling of masses through his unique style, mannerisms and mass films etc, Kamal Hassan got great acceptance for his versatility as an actor and his experiments as an actor and filmmaker. Everyone know the fact that Kamal Hassan is a far better actor than Rajinikanth when we compare the skill set of these two. In fact, Kamal Hassan is considered as one of the greatest ever actors Indian Cinema had seen along with Complete Actor Mohanlal. When it comes to the question of who is the best ever actor India has seen, the choice will be made between Mohanlal and Kamal Hassan for sure. But, when it comes to fan following and commercial value as a star, Kamal Hassan is nowhere near Super Star Rajinikanth. Once there happened an incident that a prominent Kollywood director had told Rajinikanth to learn some acting by watching Kamal Hassan’s performance.
It was said by the legendary director K Balachandar who introduced Rajinikanth as a villain through his movie named Apoorva Ragangal. Kamal Hassan played the lead role in that movie which released in 1975. Later, when he made a film named Avargal in 1977, Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan played lead roles in that as well. During the shoot of that movie, when Rajinikanth tried to go out of the set to smoke a cigarette, K Balachander told him to sit there and watch Kamal Hassan and learn from his acting.
