‘Lucifer’ is now the biggest South Indian weekend grosser in New Zealand!
Be it the domestic market or the overseas market, Mohanlal is the emperor of the box office in Mollywood and he is proving it again and again. His latest release named Lucifer had already created a number of records in the domestic and overseas market and still going strong. The latest in that is the record it had created in New Zealand.
This flick had become the biggest South Indian Weekend grosser in New Zealand surpassing Tamil biggies like Petta, Sarkar, Kaala, and Mersal. Mohanlal easily demolished the records set by Superstar Rajnikanth and Thalapathy Vijay there. Lucifer had grossed over $45 069 there and surpassed Petta which had a weekend gross of $44,170 there.
Vijay’s Sarkar grossed $40, 879 and Rajnikanth’s Kaala grossed $37, 651 in its opening weekend in New Zealand. Vijay’s Mersal is at the 5th place in the list and it had a weekend gross of $30,005 there.
In USA too, Lucifer had created an all-time record for Malayalam movies and it will soon touch the 500K mark there. In its first week, the flick had 58 locations there and now in its second week, it holds 57 of them, which is phenomenal for a Malayalam movie in the USA.
