Odiyan becomes the third Malayalam movie to touch 100 crore mark
Last day, an update came in popular medias that Mohanlal movie Odiyan had touched the magical 100 crore mark and become the 3rd movie to do so here. Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan and Nivin Pauly- Mohanlal starrer Kayamkulam Kochunni are the other two films which had achieved this feat.
But only Pulimurugan had got a theater collection of 100 crores among these 3 movies. Pulimurugan had grossed around 150 crores from its worldwide run. Kayamkulam Kochunni and Odiyan had done a business of 100 crores. Kayamkulam Kochunni’s worldwide gross is around 68 crores and Odiyan had grossed over 60 crores from its worldwide run so far.
The big pre-release business allowed these movies to make a place in the 100 crore club. Odiyan had completed 18500 shows from Kerala alone and it is still having around 100 shows per day here. The Kerala gross of Odiyan had gone past 31 crores and its UAE/GCC gross was around 20 crores as well.
It was indeed a great achievement for Odiyan as it had got negative reports on the day of its release. But the opinions changed from its second day and it had got a great run here with the support of the family audience.
