Mohanlal starrer epic box office success not only made records in Kerala and some overseas markets, it had also made many records at rest of India market as well. We saw it is having a great run at Andhra and Telangana when the Telugu dubbed version of the movie has been released. But the Malayalam version of the movie has been got a great run in Mumbai City and surpasses the films like Salman Khan starrer Sultan, Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom and Sushant Singh’s MS Dhoni etc in terms of the theatrical run of these films there in Mumbai City.

Pulimurugan had completed 11 weeks in Mumbai City and still continuing there. It is phenomenal as films like Sultan, Rustom and MS Dhoni struggled to go past 50 days there. Pulimurugan is now one of the highest running films there at Mumbai City in 2016. Marathi films Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, Natsamrat and Sairat had got a great run there in Mumbai City as well this year apart from Pulimurugan. Mohanlal’s Onam release named Oppam also got more than 10 weeks run there at Mumbai. The rest of India gross of the movie is nearing 10 crores and that is an all-time record in Mollywood as well. It had already done a total business over 150 crores till now.
